Dunderheads

Dunderheads was a pitch for an animated tv. series that I conceived, designed and directed with the financial help of Film Graphics. There is no dialogue on this show, instead it is musically driven.
The shorts were to be 3 or 4 minutes in duration. This idea was never picked up but it was a lot of fun working on it.

Fishy

Just a bit of an experiment, back in the late 90's. It was an attempt to do the whole illo. using Photoshop only,
no roughs or scanned in blue pencil drawings.

Back in the late 90's, I had the opportunity to design, direct and animate this little ad on my own,
and it was a lot o' fun.

Air Show Poster

I drew this up back in 1979 for a local air show, I also colored it with Pantone pens.
Unfortunately, the only copy I had of the final poster perished many years ago.

Vodafone Pitch

Another pitch that went nowhere, this time for a Vodafone tvc. using a
stylized caricature of "Kramer" from Seinfeld.

Free Radical Bad Ass

These are character designs for a commercial that did get made for Blackmore's antioxidant vitamins.

Toohey's Beer Pitch

This was a pitch for Toohey's Dry, a local Aussie beer.
Alas, it never came to pass.

This was pitch for a Kellogg's Coco pops tvc. that didn't make the grade.

Jackie Chan

Several years ago I was asked to design a cartoon version of Jackie Chan for an animated title sequence on one of his films. The design was rejected on the grounds that I made him look too Chinese.

Wayyyy back before monkeys became hip, I was trying to come up with a simian character for a show idea.
That's about as far as that went.

I vaguely remember being asked to draw up a private investgator but kinda goofy,
apart from that, I can't remember anyhing else.

Tracey Mc Bean

This is an illo. from a page in the book and the cover for "Tracey McBean's Streching Machine"
Mary Small wrote this book and I drew the pics. Later on, I pitched it to Sydney based Southern Star
and they produced a stack of episodes. More info coming up.

Unknown Campaign

I just cannot remember what this pitch was for, the client showed me samples of a well known cartoonist, and I can't remember that either!
Nevertheless, I emulated the cartoonists work as best I could, and there ye are.

Kiwis do Wee Wees

After listening to a radio interview with childrens book author Roger McGough, I was reasonably inspired to illustrate one of his verses.
"To amuse emus on hot summer nights, kiwis do wee wees from spectacular heights."
